Out of Office.
I never had a clear plan growing up. While others seemed to know exactly what they wanted, I only knew one thing: I wanted to create though I wasn’t yet sure under what label.
I moved a lot growing up. That experience made me adaptable, but it also made things unstable. Every time I got used to something — a place, a rhythm, a routine — it changed. Somewhere along the way, I realized I needed to build a career that could move with me. I wasn’t interested in climbing a corporate ladder inside a fixed location or system. I needed flexibility. Independence. And a sense of meaning.

While I didn’t know exactly how I wanted my life to unfold, I tried different jobs in hospitality, beauty, and education. Yet, I constantly felt like I didn’t belong—not just because of the industries themselves, but because of how they were structured. I often felt broken in my own way.
For years, I held onto the belief that success meant consistency — staying the course, pushing through, and working hard no matter what. And yes, consistency matters. But I learned that staying in situations that disconnect you from yourself isn’t resilience — it’s self-abandonment.
⸻
Eventually, I realized I could define success on my own terms. I could build something flexible, creative, and intentional—something aligned with my values rather than opposed to them. Self-employment gave me that opportunity.
